WAMA Underwear is an organic, hemp underwear brand encouraging consumers to think about the materials that are in contact with their body, specifically undergarments.
While traveling, WAMA Underwear founder Shakib was able to visit many hemp suppliers including the biggest hemp factory in the world. He was intrigued by the natural material and decided to further his knowledge by taking a class on hemp. Through his studies Shakib learned about the hemp fabric benefits such as being naturally anti-bacterial, anti-microbial, and a breathable fabric to wear. Shakib felt that the benefits of the hemp fabric would be great characteristics of underwear. Shakib partnered with a GOTS Certified (Global Organic Textile Standard) supplier and launched WAMA. Shakib wants consumer’s first encounter with hemp to be a positive experience which is why he spent a good amount of time developing the underwear and testing the fabric to make sure it was high quality and authentic. Due to WAMA’s innovative use of hemp, this underwear brand is a Green America Certified Business and a PETA Approved Vegan brand.
WAMA’s Underwear is a mix of 53% hemp / 44% organic cotton / 3% spandex which allows the underwear to keep a stretchy feel. WAMA sells hipster style underwear for women and boxer briefs for men. The innovative hemp underwear company is planning to expand into more styles and colors as hemp underwear becomes more popular.
I got to try out WAMA Underwear and I love the feel. The fabric is soft and breathable. The hipster style is particularly comfortable allowing flexibility when walking around town or taking part in active activities. I really love the fit of my hipster WAMA Underwear. I went with a size up after learning they tend to run a bit small, and mine fit me perfectly. I would encourage you to do the same if you’re interested in trying out WAMA Underwear. Head on over to their website, learn more, and shop.
