My Sustainable Farm to Table Dinner at Carnation Farms
As someone who is passionate about local and sustainable food, I’ve been wanting to explore more farms in my area.
After following Carnation Farms on social media, I was curious to learn about this regenerative farm.
Since it was only 40 minutes outside of Seattle, we purchased tickets to Carnation Farms’ Feast in the Field dining experiece.
Feast in the Field Dining Experience Outside of Seattle
This option is offered during the summer months and includes welcome cocktails, a farm tour, and a farm to table dinner outside. This experience was so incredible.
During the cooler months Carnation Farms does offer indoor dinners on other sites around their farm.
They started everyone out in the field with cocktails that were a collaboration of Terramar Brewstillery alcohol and Carnation Farms produce.
They served this happy hour from an adorable airstream. The featured cocktails were a Tomato Leaf Gin & Tonic and a Vodka Strawberry Sling.
Regenerative Farm Tour
We were then led on a cocktail friendly farm tour by the Director of Regenerative Agriculture. We sipped our cocktails and walked through the fields.
This was so cool! We learned about animal integreation in the fields, how they are reducing water usage through dry farming, and how they have improved the soil quality through their regenerative practices.

These amazing tomatoes were dry farmed and part of our dinner.
A True Farm to Table Dining Experience
After the farm tour we were seated for the farm to table dinner. This consisted of five courses.
The chef came out and shared about the menu and we heard from other local vendors where ingredients were sourced from including Cairnspring Mills and Terramar Brewstillery. Everything was sourced locally in Washington state which is incredible.
The food was served family style, so I didn’t get to take many pictures before it was eaten, but here is the menu. I love how they include where the ingredients came from below.
All of the food was fabulous! It was so fresh and you could tell that such care was put into creating this menu.
Here is the amazing Bread Pudding dessert which was as beautiful as it was tasty.
Each course was served with pairings from Terramar Brewstillery.
The table was beautifully set and created a setting that encouraged people to talk with their neighbors.
I was lucky enough to sit by some of the women from the Carnation Farms livestock team, so I got to geek out and ask all my questions about their sustainable farming practices.
We got sent home with a reusable tote bag, bag of local flour from Cairnspring Mills, and a bread recipe.
I love that they are encouraging guests to use local food in their own kitchens!
I REALLY enjoyed this meal and experience! I sincerely appreciate they integrate education on regenerative farming into this experience.
I think this event truly embodied local food and sustainability. And it was so cool to see so many people gather to learn about those values that are so important to me.
I can’t wait to go back to explore their farm stand and more of their events.
If you live in Washington or visit Seattle, visiting Carnation Farms is a MUST! This is such a unique experience. I’m so impressed by this regenerative farm and their sustainable practices.
