What was included in my Knife Set?
KnifeSaga knives are made from High Carbon Stainless Steel. This material is a great option for those interested in having non-toxic and eco products in their kitchen.
The Phantom Iris X5 15-Piece Knife Set included the following:
chef knife
bread knife
carving knife
santoku
utility knife
paring knives
six steak knives
kitchen shears
sharpening steel
You can purchase KnifeSaga knives on their own or as a set.
What I Loved About My KnifeSaga Knives
Quality
The quality of these knives is amazing. They cut beautifully. I’ve cut bread, chopped vegetables, and cut meat with these knives and it’s smooth cutting every time.
Overall the set had a great selection of different types of knives.
Eco-conscious
I love that they are made from High Carbon Stainless Steel which is a sustainable choice. And I appreicate the lifetime warranty. I think that shows their dedication to high quality products.
Sharpener
I appreciate this set came with a sharpener.
What I Did Not Like About My KnifeSaga Knife Set
Knife Block Issues
I was initially drawn to the Phantom Iris X5 15-Piece Knife Set because of the artsy design on the knife block. However, the white coating of knife block seems to shed inside of the block.
Whenever I pull a knife out I have to wash it because of the white specks from the block coating.
That’s a big drawback and if I were to do it over again I would choose one of the solid wood blocks without a design on it. I would think this would not happen on those.
Hand Wash
While online in the product listing the description says, Hand wash recommended, the product itself states to not put the knives in the dishwasher. Through further research I’ve confirmed you should not put these in the dishwasher.
So, be prepared to handwash and make sure they’re full dry to prevent water stains!
And in general I recommend you educate yourself on high carbon stainless steel for best care.
Would I Recommend KnifeSaga?
While I would absolutley recommend these knives, I would take caution with which block you choose when purchasing.
I’d encourage consumers to choose one of the plain wood blocks without the white coating as I believe this would prevent the coating from shedding onto the knives.
You can buy the knives without the block which I would recommend.
