Yes, I’m talking to the ones who procrastinate their holiday shopping! I get it, I’m a procrastinator too. BUT as a one woman show/small business owner, I’m encouraging you to please consider everything that goes into getting a package to you! As I am learning about retail/shipping/holiday consumerism through my new online shop Give a Damn Goods, it’s a crazy time during the holidays. Small business owners are working furiously to get those holiday orders out on in time.
Unfortunately not all brands are Amazon, fulfilling orders in hours and offering two day shipping! Sometimes I am guilty of being that crazy consumer who gets excited about packages arriving and tracks the package everyday. Yep, even as an advocate for slow living and conscious consumerism, sometimes I just can’t help it. But patience is key when shopping small and knowing that good things come in time.
This weekend is the deadline for A TON of small businesses to receive your packages by Christmas. Please pay attention and respect their deadlines. It makes the holiday season much more pleasant for business owners working like elves. Seriously…some of my friends have to have a little Christmas magic because I don’t know how they do it all. Small business owners are people too. They have families. They leave town for the holidays, so please, please respect their deadlines so your gifts can get under the tree and business owners can breathe easy! Shop small & purchase with purpose! And if you need any gift ideas please check out the 2018 Ethical Holiday Gift Guide or my lil’ gift shop Give a Damn Goods! FYI Give a Damn Goods order deadline has been extended to the 17th, woohoo!
