For Better Not Worse (FBNW) creates fun, casual apparel that is designed & printed in Los Angeles. With each clothing item purchased, a bag of groceries is given to a child in need through FBNW's partnership with the Boys & Girls Club in Southern California.
For Better Not Worse founder, Patricc was exposed to social enterprise through a meeting with Blake Mycoskie. Patricc had been in the apparel industry for a while and wanted to focus more on giving back. Six months after the meeting Patricc started For Better Not Worse. Patricc wanted his company to have a direct impact on the future of children. As he began asking around, he discovered that a lot of children have difficulty acquiring food when school is not in session. For example, eating dinner or meals on the weekend can be a challenge for some families. Patricc decided that with every apparel item sold a bag of groceries would be donated to a child in need.
Patricc teamed up with the Boys & Girls Club in Southern California to maximize FBNW's impact. Food drops are made monthly and include fun times for the children. The For Better Not Worse team sets up activities such as games, a photo station, and spends time getting to know the children. For Better Not Worse occasionally plans workshops for kids to learn more about nutrition and healthy eating habits. When the children leave the Boys & Girls Club at the end of the day each child receives a bag of groceries to take home and share with their family. For Better Not Worse has been able to positively impact 1000s of families in the Southern California area through their give back program and is hoping to expand soon.
One of the reasons I love For Better Not Worse apparel is because of how personable their tees are. I appreciate the fun sayings on the shirts such as "You can't make everyone happy, you're not pizza," "My dog is my therapist," and my own shirt "Coffee. Yoga. Puppies. Naps." I appreciate the hint of sass and personality in their apparel making it fun to wear and connect with people. My FBNW shirt is incredibly soft and the comfortable fit is relaxing. I love the direct impact FBNW is having on the lives of children by providing food and spending time getting to know the members of the Boys & Girls Club. Their emphasis on community and relationships is inspiring! I highly encourage you to check them out and consider buying a "shirt with baggage."
